Tectonic’ in architecture is to raise the level of construction and structure to an art form. The course was conducted by integrating structure and construction together. The emphasis of the present course was on frame structure and its use for materials like timber, steel and concrete. The course started with imaginary object in the form of the great giant. The second stage was to design a throne and vehicle for the giant. The whole process of transforming the imagination into reality helped them to understand the interrelationship of material, form and structure. Final stage was to develop the details based on material and system along with exploration of modes of documenting and communicating the design.
